I played with paper today.

I had no desire to join a million other people in crowded stores for Black Friday so instead I spent a quiet day at home, making paper cranes as a gift for my secret sister at church.

She is young, enjoys art and her favorite colors are blue and purple so I thought she might like this. I don't think she follows my blog. At least I hope she doesn't - then it won't be a surprise.

Did you know that legend has it that if you fold 1,000 paper cranes your wishes will come true? I only have about 995 to go.
They are lovely Patty. She'll appreciate and enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI stayed home too. Knitting.
These are beautiful Patty. She will love them. I have heard the paper crane legend before. I figured it was an origami way of saying that if you work hard enough you can do anything. It is good you got to stay home and rest.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Patty! Are your kids all going to be home for Chirstmas this year?
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many it takes, but yours are so attractive!
ReplyDeleteLove that you are talented in so many ways.....
What a lovely surprise this will be. Great job.
ReplyDeleteHow many times I picked up a paper to make one and never did lol
ReplyDeleteI love these cranes.
To think that we have people living in tents to bring business and jobs home and others sleeping in tents in front of stores to buy foreign made products. I think the ones in the parks are sleeping in the wrong places lol
They should make an issue at the stores.lol
What a nice way to spend your Friday!
ReplyDeleteThe birds are just lovely she will love them.
Yeah only 995 to go ;)
Enjoy your Sunday (probably folding and folding......) :)
They are amazing Patti- what a relaxing thing to do. We don't have black Friday here thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteYour cranes are beautiful and would make anyone happy (and peaceful!)
